| hey everyone
omg its only less than 2 weeks left of holidays!!!! thats so bad! i want it to last longer...
oh well, good things never last (well, some)
anyways, daniel has already visited and left. he's in japan now for the STF convention coz he's a captain now
but we had a great time together. he looked kinda diff. more older i
think. also his accent became really weird. like when he first came his
accent sounded american/australian/korean (don't ask me "why korean?"
coz i have no idea!) but it soon morphed back to his normal accent
being with us! lol
anyways enough about accents. we went to a few swimming places and
stuff and resturants when he was here. i think i gained a few kilos
(dang it!) but oh well, plenty of time to chop it off again.
anyways i'm really tired and cant be bothered doing much more typing so i'll just post a pic and sign off
luv ya!

| hey peeps
guess what?? I'M DONE WITH SCHOOL!! yep yep! i finnished on friday (all
week we did our exams) and today we invited the Student Missionaries
(our teachers) over for tea and cake. me and sarah, and mum kinda, did
alot of cooking yesterday. i made a marble chocolate and vanilla cake,
a carrot and almond cake, hedgehogs (its an aussie slice made with
chocolate and broken up cookies, they're SOOOOO good!), and custard
tart (again another australian pie with custard), and sarah made a
sponge cake (ANOTHER aussie recipe, its like a spongy kind of vanilla
cake with glaced icing on the top and its cut in half with whip cream
and strawberry jam in the middle). and that was about it. they all came
out REALLY well, and i got alot of good comments ;D but it was fun
making all of it. anyways, apart from the food, we had a good talk with
the teachers (by the way, the teachers are 20-25 year old people from
the US, so they're not like these old scary teachers lol).
awww i'm gonna miss the teachers heaps! they're leaving at separate
times, but the first to go are the crawfords, on monday. we're gonna go
to the airport for them and a few others. but anyways thats all for now.
ttyl everyone

| Happy Anzac Day!
well, today we had an Anzac Day service
(you know, like with the Last Post playing, raising the aus and nz
flags, reading some Anzac history, eating Anzac cookies!, singing the
national anthem of aus and nz etc.) it was really nice, we had it at
this place called kangaroo court, where a bunch of aussies live. it
really feels like your in australia like with all the aussie men
drinking beer and chatting, playing two-up (traditional aussie game)
etc. and the breakfast was sooooo nice. this guy just came from
australia yesterday and bought in all these nice foods *mmmm*
by the way, for any of you who dont know what Anzac is, its stands for: Australia and New Zealand Army Corps.
And its a day for rememberance of all aus and nz troops who have served
in world wars. its one of my favourite days of the year.
one of the speeches given was a poem called "Green and Gold Malaria"
and it was really nice. i'll post it up if you want to read it. its
about a soldier talking to a doctor because he thinks he has a deadly
disease, but you'll just have to read it to find out what it is! lol...
also, some of you might not get what some of the lines mean (aussie
slang), but you'll get the message in the end.
Green And Gold Malaria
The day would soon arrive when I could not ignore the rash.
I was obviously ill and so I called on Doctor Nash.
This standard consultation would adjudicate my fate.
I walked into his surgery and gave it to him straight:
‘Doc, I
wonder if you might explain this allergy of mine,
I get pins
and needles running up and down my spine.
From
there, across my body, I will suddenly extend –
My neck
will feel a shiver and the hairs will stand on end.
And then
there is a symptom that only a man can fear
–
A choking
in the throat, and the crying of a tear.’
Well, the Doctor scratched his melon with a rather worried
look.
His furrowed brow suggested that the news to come was
crook.
‘What is
it Doc?’ I motioned. ‘Have I got a rare disease?
I’m man
enough to cop it sweet, so give it to me, please.’
‘I’m not
too sure,’ he answered, in a puzzled kind of way.
‘You’ve
got some kind of fever, but it’s hard for me to say.
When is it
that you feel this most peculiar condition?’
I thought for just a moment, then I gave him my position:
‘I get it
when I’m standing in an Anzac Day parade,
And I get
it when the anthem of our native land is played,
And I get
it when Meninga makes a Kiwi-crunching run,
And when
Border grits his teeth to score a really gusty ton.
I got it
back in ’91 when Farr-Jones held the cup,
And I got
it when Japan was stormed by Better Loosen Up.
I get it
when Banjo takes me down the Snowy River,
And
Matilda sends me waltzing with a billy-boiling shiver.
It hit me
hard when Sydney was awarded the Games,
And I get
it when I see our farmers fighting for their names.
It
flattered me when Bertrand raised the boxing kangaroo,
And when
Perkins smashed the record, well, the rashes were true blue.
So tell
me, Doc’ I questioned. ‘Am I really gonna die?’
He broke into a smile before he looked me in the eye. As he
fumbled with his stethoscope and pushed it out of reach, He wiped away a tear
and then he gave me this stirring speech:
‘From the
beaches here in Queensland to the sweeping shores of Broome,
On the
Harbour banks of Sydney where the waratak’s in bloom.
From Uluru
at sunset to the Mighty Tasman Sea,
In the
Adelaide cathedrals, at the roaring MCG.
From the
Great Australian Bight up to the Gulf of Carpentaria,
The medical
profession call it “green and gold malaria”.
But forget
about the text books, son, the truth I shouldn’t hide.
The rash
that you’ve contracted here is “good old Aussie pride”.
I’m afraid
that you were born with it and one thing is for sure –
You’ll die with it, young man, because there isn’t a
cure.’
By Rupert McCall
Anyways thats all. Have a true blue Anzac Day
luv loz
